There’s nothing that wrong with this Chardonnay but there’s nothing especially right about it either. Aromas of peach and lemon along with some fatter melon and fig are echoed on the palate. It’s creamy, soft and textured although a bit more definition wouldn’t go astray. Spice on the finish yet it peters out pretty quickly.
The sweeter fruit is tempered by savoury nuances as it moves through its line. Clean winemaking for sure but it lacks sophistication and complexity. A nonthreatening interpretation of the grape but sometimes you need to take risks in order to reap rewards.
