2010 Chapel Hill il Vescovo Savagnin

McLaren Vale 13.0% Screwcap $20

A lean and linear version of Savagnin here. Out of the fridge it borders on neutrality but it warms up to reveal a nose of lemons, mandarins and orange blossom with a mere suggestion of paw paw and slight herbal/grassy undertones. Biting crispness and pebble like minerality on exit. A little spice is present on the palate as well.

Pure and zesty but perhaps a little too chaste and virtuous to truly win me over. A wine for lovers of clean lines and extreme refreshment.
