De Bortoli Rococo Sparkling Rosé NV

Yarra Valley 12.0% Diam $22 Source: Sample

Rococo is an 18th century artistic movement which developed as Baroque artists gave up their symmetry and became increasingly more ornate, florid, and playful. It’s also the name of a great song from Arcade Fire’s album, “The Suburbs”. I think we’ll stick to the Baroque reference and leave Barack out of it for now.

Love the packaging, very pretty and ornate…as is the wine, which has the mildest blush of pink/bronze in the flute, and a bead possessing such fine vigour that I envy it. Aromas of assorted red fruits, pink lady apples and shortbread biscuits along with a little lemon citrus gently rise and entice.

It’s vibrant in the mouth but never harsh, leaving impressions of adult strawberry ice cream with a dry lemon biscuit finish. A success in every way & priced to fit what it has to offer. Along with the Rococo Blanc de Blancs NV this provides another good option when it comes to quality sparkling staples that won’t break the bank.
