2010 Molly Morgan Rosé

Hunter Valley 12.5% Screwcap $20 Source: Sample

Some wines are hard to write up without including a shopping list of descriptors. This is not one of them…

It’s cranberries with a little toffee apple. Cranberry, cranberry juice, cranberries popping in the mouth. A touch mono-dimensional then, but is there anything wrong with that in a Rosé? Or a wine full stop? It can work in young Rieslings, but I would suggest that most wine requires a little more.

This one has a scrunchy texture and finishes crisp & dry. It’s not a cerebral wine, nor one that I wish to rave about. It does what it does well. If you are after simple pleasures, well executed, then this may be a wine for you. It’ll be very versatile when it comes to accompanying food. That’s of some worth too.
