2009 Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc

Adelaide Hills 13% Screwcap $12.99

Adelaide Hills is commonly considered the spiritual home for Australian Sauvignon Blanc. It’s usually less pungent than the Marlborough versions and this is no exception.

Opens with Bright gooseberry and lemons before a softer mid palate of tropicals including passionfruit (but not overdone as is so often the case). The finish is of cut grass, some nettles and touch of spice. There’s some pineapple floating about in there as well.

It’s refreshing without the acid being too harsh. The back palate and finish, so often a problem for the variety, are convincing.

You’re getting a big hit of regional expression here for a small price. I should also mention that any straight/mixed 6 bottle purchase attracts a 10% discount.
