2013 Head Wines The Contrarian Shiraz

imageFrom Moculta in the north of the Eden Valley. The most savoury and dry of the gang.

Blossoms with a lengthy decant…or three days of tasting. Smells and tastes of juicy blackberries and boysenberry, potpourri and violets, dark chocolate and dusty cupboard spices. A subdued herbal thread and a little minty lift. Once again ends up firmly on the savoury side with tightly knit, finessed tannin. Excellent stony, cedary length. 94

    Jeremy,
A barossa shiraz with sub 14% alc. will get my attention any day of the week. I will hunt this out. Thanks for the review.
