Riper and denser than the last three vintages. There’s still an interesting interplay between more hedonistic fruit, forest-litter savouriness and whole bunch herbs.
Not much in the way of florals. Acidity is down this year but there’s enough succulence and it feels reasonably silky in the mouth. Black cherries, poached strawberries and plums, spice and stewed rhubarb. Tannins are ever so slightly astringent and bitter. Plenty of interest and value for a Pinot you’ll often find for couple of dollars less than listed. 88
