Only 155 cases of each of the Small Pot label wines made in 2012. Miles Davis “Bitches Brew” gear. This is lighter on its feet than the Small Pot Whole Bunch. There are some sandy, windy and cool blocks at Yangarra. A special and specific place within McLaren Vale. The roses, violets and spice bear witness to that.
Has the muscular elegance of a gymnast. More savoury than most wines from the region but the famous mid-palate is full. Licorice, dry earth, garrigue and toasty cedar oak engage in a dialogue with cherry-berry fruit. Strung tightly with silty tannin and fine acid both in pitch perfect tune. A very special wine. 95
