Is this the final episode of Alex Head’s ‘hair-colour trilogy’ or will we see a Blue Rinse Shiraz, or even a Mousy Brown?
All the vibrancy of the 2012 vintage is on display. Quite slinky, silky and peppery. Tremendous depth of purple and red fruits. Cinders and mint strewn with violets. Excellent energy and flow with sublime supple, layered tannin. Game meats further the immersive experience. Graphite form on the back palate and succulent, fine acidity. Tremendous extension. Actually quite flamboyant but has all the substance and structure to back it up. Surprisingly enjoyable if you open and pour now but the best is yet to come. 95+
