A curious blend of grapes from Mudgee and one which I’ve enjoyed in the past. Quirky and tasty if lacking a bit of carry and conviction through the back-palate. 100% whole bunch. Initially sappy, twiggy and herbal although it becomes significantly less so over time.
Vivid florals. Bubbling over with crisp forest berries set against decaying leaf matter and spice. The contradiction of sodden earth and vibrancy. Brisk acidity and smudgy tannin. Just enough flesh. The flavour is mostly anterior. Snappy work from a cool, wet vintage. 88
