Strike another blow for Topper’s Mountain. The dynamic duo of Mark Kirkby and Mike Hayes have me itching to visit the New England region.
Not just a Gewürztraminer to sniff and admire but a Gewürztraminer to drink. Vibrant acidity underneath a slippery veneer takes care of that. A hint of celery does no harm either. Don’t worry, it’s still varietally correct. Turkish delight, nectarine, lychees, candied ginger, and white flowers. Peppery and long, finishing with a pristine mineral edge. I really enjoyed a couple of glasses with Singapore-style noodles last night. Nothing like an aromatic explosion to celebrate recovering from a flu. 93
