Another wine in the McWilliam’s Appellation Series – designed to highlight regions within NSW. Orange was of course the sensible place to head for Sauvignon Blanc.
By and large in the clean, crisp mode with a couple of tweaks. Intense capsicum and blackberry (leaf and fruit) are the characters that initially jump out. The usual suspects, passionfruit and gooseberry, are still present though. Has a little palate weight…not a lot but a little. Brisk with a thin skim milk textural meniscus. Perhaps a little barrel work grip but negligible. Snapped peas to close. 88
