2012 Henry’s Drive H Syrah

imageI’ve not had a lot of success with Henry’s Drive wines but I like this. Not so sure it’s a ‘Syrah’ but let’s not open that can of worms.

It smells and tastes of pressed flowers and potpourri with purple fruits and licorice strap. Vanilla, cloves, pepper and a hint of tobacco too. It’s quite bright and vivacious with loose knit tannin. The fruit doesn’t quite splay across the palate but it’s not tightly constrained either. It rather suits the wine. Lots of flavour and good balance. Slurpable. 91
