2012 Crittenden Peninsula Pinot Noir

imageRollo’s on a roll. Rollo Crittenden that is. Kicking goals with Pinot, Chardonnay and “alternative” varieties and styles.

Floral with vivid wild strawberry and cherry fruits and a whisper of plum skin sourness. Acidity bristles in a good way. Sappy with baked rhubarb and apple alongside suggestions of beetroot. Slightly obvious savoury oak and attractive spice. Grainy tannin is drying through the finish and needs time to nestle in but everything is in place. Give it a decant or a year or two. 92
