A step up in quality from the Barber. Possesses fruit depth, power and intensity as well a fair clip of nutty oak. 20% whole bunches in the mix.
Both sour and glacé cherries with wild strawberries and a subtle ripple of blueberry. Savoury earthen balance and hints of charcuterie. Cloves, nutmeg and pepper all very much in moderation. It’s quite fresh and there is a hell of a lot of tannin unfurling from the back of the mid-palate onwards. A tea leaf aftertaste. On the third day of it sill felt highly structured…but the fruit was almost as prominent as when opened. Needs time. 90+
