The 2013 release of the Yelland & Papps Delight Vermentino sees a little more residual sugar in the mix (5g/l), rounding out the acidity and making it even more crowd-pleasing…if somewhat unremarkable. I’ve got no problems with that. If it helps fund their exploration of Roussanne and keeps the “Second Take” label up and running then more power to them.
You do notice the sweetness but it bleeds into the melon fruit characters without much fuss. Citrus blossom and sunlight lemon freshness brighten proceedings. A sprinkle of spice. Should fly out the cellar door. 87
