From the Balmoral Vineyard which sits at an altitude of 870 metres in Orange, NSW. Matured in a combination of new and used French barrels for ten months. Initially it looked a little obvious but with some air it started to express a more compelling persona.
Plenty of primary fruit stuffing; white peach, grapefruit, lemon and a hint of fig encased in nougat oak. Almond meal aspects to the texture and a faint general nuttiness. With time anise hyssop and a complexing suggestion of resin. A satisfying finish centring on woodspice. Good drinking with a bit of interest. 91
