Tasted single blind amongst a line up of $30 and under Barossan Shiraz, mostly from the 2012 vintage with a couple of 2011s in the mix. I included a Head Wines Head Red Shiraz 2012 from my own collection as well. It showed as the best wine by some margin.
Sweet and polished. Plums, blackberries and under-played vanilla oak with some purple florals. The acid sits slightly apart from the flavours. Full-bodied and warm but neither thick nor hot. Pepper and Asian spice. Does what it does well. Just needs time to integrate. 90+
