De Bortoli (an extremely good producer) have a massive portfolio of wines. Why they need the SKU provided by the La Bossa wines is beyond me. To be fair, I don’t have a very good business mind. What’s more disconcerting is that this Shiraz Cabernet Merlot medalled in the 2012 National Capital Wine Show.
Confection and mulch on the nose. Thin and mawkish on the palate with hard, green tannin. Awful sour/sweet interplay. I was uncomfortable being in the same room as it. 75

Ha ha.
And here’s a review quoted on the De Borts website:
“”You’re not going to come across a lot of reds more easy going than this. It’s light to medium bodied, soft, and ready to drink. There are red berry and cherry flavours with enough grunt and depth to satisfy. There’s a hint of spice on the finish that gives it a lift. For the casualwine drinker, this will hit the spot – and the price can’t be ignored.”

The democratisation of wine may have gone a little too far. Splash out on a Windy Peak or even a Sacred Hill white.
I tasted this and just tipped it out. Cask wine quality…
Geez AG, you must drink some rather shitty cask wine
