Such a huge difference between 2009 and 2010 vintages in Piedmont, the heatwave of the former year producing sweeter, broader shouldered wines while the 2010s I’ve seen possess a delicacy of perfume and body which I find most appealing. This wine is a great example. Imported by Negociants.
Pale in colour and only just medium-bodied. Beautiful floral, aniseed and red cherry perfume. Further complexity via rain on asphalt aromas and a touch of mint. Citrusy acidity, not much in the way of oak. Light and airy, angular and agile with high-grade tannins. Savoury at its core but not without fresh and pretty fruit. 92
