Spends about four years on lees and is an assemblage of 58% Chardonnay and 42% Pinot Noir all sourced from the Pipers River area in the north of Tasmania. Plenty of autolytic derived depth and character but the fruit isn’t lost amidst it.
Displays a fine, persistent bead and has a marshmallow softness in the mouth. Lemon tart, white flowers, strawberry shortcake, honey roasted hazelnuts and Vegemite. Finishes with a touch of sweetness but nothing untoward. Somewhat opulent yet well structured. A crowd-pleasing style executed well. 93
