Hails from the Mount Barker subregion of the Great Southern. Not your typical Australian Riesling. Leesy texture cushioning the region’s naturally high acidity and grippy, woody tannin on the back-palate. Some old oak?
It isn’t as stern or austere as most examples from the area. Breadth of flavour comes in the form of ripe lime, apples and pear. There’s a hint of smoke in the mix and the finish is ever so slightly saline. No shortage of interest. 91
