I’m not sold on this release of the OP&OH although it may just be a sleeper. It feels uneven and lacks flow. There’s a heck of a lot of oak in the mix and it is clearly built for the long haul.
Lifted blackberry and redcurrants, earthen depth and a suggestion of sour plum. The acidity pokes out a bit although that’s mostly rectified after a couple of days being open. Toast, vanilla and cedar with brown spice over black. Less elegance than the Rosehill and a touch weightier if still medium-bodied. Will be interesting to revisit it in its maturity. 91+
