The best Australian Grüner Veltliner I’ve tasted and not just because it presents as the closest to the Austrian models. It has brisk acidity which provides excellent structure yet there is a softness and a sense of texture. It creates some admirable tension. Length is a feature.
Loads of white pepper, some green beans and celery salt accompany melon and citrus. Perhaps a suggestion of beeswax. That acidity is quite thrilling and captured perfectly by the cool climate. Don’t serve it too cold. Tossed up adding a point on account of knocking off the bottle over two days. That’s a strong indication of how much I enjoyed it. 93
