So it doesn’t have the same amount of structure or detail as the 2012 Guerin 864 Pinot, the perfume isn’t quite as beguiling and it isn’t quite as persistent. But it’s not far off. And it is my favourite of the 2012 Local Vineyard Series Pinot Noirs.
A bouquet which includes florals, sous bois, red cherries and complex notes of spice. There’s just the right amount of flesh here. It has linearity but it isn’t wiry. Slightly tart cranberry and ruby grapefruit acidity and more than a rub of tannin shape the flavours. Just kept getting better over four days of tasting. 94+
