I think the Vinoque Pinot Noir has taken over the value mantle from the De Bortoli Gulf Station version within two vintages. It’s simply a more interesting wine.
Floral perfume, vibrant strawberry, sour cherry and plum fruits. Has body and presence but it’s still elegant with a good line. Speaks very much of Tarrawarra and Dixons Creek from whence the fruit is sourced. Whole bunches add herbal inflections and there’s some pleasing spiced rhubarb in the mix as well. Worth seeking out. 90
