A new member of the Vinoque family. It’s hearty fare alright. Juicy too. But ultimately I feel it strays too far into the jammy spectrum and there’s a distracting note of bourbon accompanying the alcohol warmth.
Black fruited with streaks of lighter berries, tar and a ferrous whisper. The architecture is actually impressive and it’s the fine tannin and bright acidity that gets it over the line. Still, I have to say I prefer the less expensive Windy Peak Heathcote Shiraz from the same year. 88
