Two good releases of the standard Tahbilk classic reds this year. I tend to enjoy them more than the higher price Eric Stevens Purbrick range. They seems less showy, more drinkable and more representative of my personal perception of Tahbilk. You do lose a bit of intensity and depth but I’ll take that trade off.
Black fruits, eucalypt (but not too dominant), red earth and a touch of animal hide. Juicy acidity, long tannins. The oak is handled well, not overplayed. Good gear at a good price. You will of course find it for less than is listed below. 90
