I’ve had limited success with Pinot Noir from Western Australia but Picardy’s Pemberton efforts are a shining beacon. This is in a good place right now but still has time on its side.
Sweeter, richer raspberry notes with a subtle sour cherry underlay. The fruit flavours are entangled with field mushrooms, forest litter and complex spice. Animated acidity on a linear palate. It takes a bit of time to settle but eventually does a terrific job of enunciating the wine in a clear and precise fashion. Some attractive sappy tannin to close. Structure is a highlight but it’s a joy to drink in every respect. 94

Screwcap – splutter, good grief.
Thanks Andyroo – now changed to cork. I don’t think Bill or Dan Pannell will be switching to screwcap anytime soon. I was just on autopilot
