From the Yarra Valley floor and immediately identifiable as such due to a denser, heartier fruit presence. I tend to gravitate towards the Upper Yarra when it comes to Pinot and Chardonnay these days but if you’re looking for a little more oomph then this might suit you down to the ground.
The dominant flavour profile is of dark cherries, spiced plum and baked rhubarb. It opens up as a compact wine with plenty of tannin and a sheen of oak but if you give it a couple of days (or some time in the bottle) it loosens up quite a bit and flows more freely. Needs some time to unwind right now but everything is in place. 92
