Yet another unaffected wine from Rollo Crittenden with little standing in the way of letting the fruit tell its story. It’s from the Tuerong part of the Mornington Peninsula and the Port Phillip surrounds. Roughly the same treatment as the Shiraz in terms of yeast and oak.
As much as I can’t stand the word this has a pleasingly ‘natural’ feel about it. It’s plump and fleshy with gorgeously tactile grape skin tannins. It’s a dark fruited beauty without make-up or much in the way of oak influence. Streaks of raspberry and a sense of earthiness round it out. It might not score through the roof but shit, I could drink a lot of this. 90
