The Torzi Matthews Frost Dodger Riesling is one of those wines that you would hope you could pick blind with ease. It’s character is so distinctive. Due to practical constraints and also because I think blind tasting – especially when it’s done rapidly and in large brackets – isn’t really an ideal way to come to terms with a wine, I had the label facing me when this was in my glass.
Those ripe, pulpy lime and lemon juices squeezed onto slate along with deft use of lees to add texture and body without any loss of purity – both elements are extremely distinguishable and integral to its identity. Aniseedy herbs and sliver of ginger generate further interest. The finish is intense, dry and chalky. I’d be very careful not to serve this too cold. The nuances can get lost. 94

What’s your prediction for the long term with this one Jeremy?
Plenty of fruit, structure and intensity here Bob so I’d imagine there’s certainly room for positive development over the next ten years or so.
