As was the case with the 2011 Bicknell FC Chardonnay, the fruit for this comes from the Bastard Hill Vineyard in the Upper Yarra Valley. So esoteric and vinous. A whole bunch laden wine sure to polarise and promote discussion. Dig the label too. For what it’s worth.
The manner in which each of the individual components interact leaves me envisaging the ultimate in lazy Sunday lunches. Lamb jus, mint jelly and vegetables. The whole kit and caboodle when it comes to comfort roasts. Primary fruit flavour as a cleanser; cranberry and red cherries. Then you can lay back and mull over the strong whiff of hydroponic cannabis that ambles slowly from the glass. A relaxing mnemonic for a what is undeniably a cerebral and thought-provoking wine. 90
