Sourced from “a number of established low-yielding vineyards primarily at higher altitudes and none on the Barossa floor.” Also incorporates a 15% Eden Valley component which shines within the final blend. It’s hard to miss. Juicy stylings with minimal oak interference. The website lists the specifics; large format 480 litre old French. So refreshing both literally and metaphorically. 10% whole bunch which is more detectable in the attractive perfume than in a stalky palate sense.
Fairly bursting with blackberry and boysenberry fruit and pepper spice. The acidity is brisk and slightly cranberry tinted but ultimately refreshing rather than obtrusive. Some brazil nuts on the back-palate along with more complex seasoning which could be due to the 5% Mataro…I’m unsure. At the price it’s nothing less than a dead set steal. 92
