Has the sap and smoke of the 2010 if not quite the intensity of fruit. It bears the mark of the cool vintage but not necessarily in such a bad way. The acid is slightly elevated and pepper dominates more complex Asian spices. The tannin is welcomingly soft but crucial to the wine.
Raspberries, rose petals, just-ripe strawberries and non-whole bunch related herbs (all fruit was destemmed). Undergrowth and pressed flowers. So pretty but so far from preppy. Completely autumnal in feel. Has enough substance and length. I don’t think it is of the same quality as the previous release but there are plenty of times I would be in the mood to drink this instead of the 2010. Has a sense of tranquility. 91
