2012 Jamsheed Harem Series Pepé le Pinot

jamsheed pepe le pinot 2This year’s Pepé le Pinot comes from the Mornington Peninsula, not the Yarra Valley. It still maintains its sense of wildness though. Fermented using indigenous yeasts and aged in older French oak.

Dark cherry, loganberries and plum. Forest floor litter and smoky notes. There’s a distinctly bitter herbal twist on the finish which will probably polarise people. Good extension. A very interesting wine which is pretty much what we’ve come to expect from winemaker Gary Mills. 88
