Whipped through a bracket of 2011 McLaren Vale Shirazes over the last couple of days. Not a bad wine amongst them, although no great heights were scaled.
A bit of the old bracken to mark the wet season but this is still flush with generous mulberry and blackberry. No ripeness issues, that much is certain. A little minty lift, pepper and sweet spice with crowd-pleasing chocolate oak and soft tannins. The fruit may not present as spotless but the overall impression is one of richness and pleasure. Ready to go now. 88 Good
