What a wonderful sight is quality Chablis under screwcap. Wish we saw more of it. The Louis Moreau Grand Cru 2010 is sealed the same way. I’ll get around to tasting and reviewing it soon but seeing as it’s only a Tuesday we’ll settle for a 1er right now.
Preserved lemons extend into restrained tropical notes of guava, melon and apricot (interesting that we often frown upon such dalliances in Australian Chardonnay). It’s not a sweet wine though it has intensity of flavour and some honeyed flesh. Fascinating suggestions of aniseedy Sweet Cicely/Garden Myrhh florals and leaves. There’s a line of stony acidity and minerality which drives through the back-palate. Subliminal notes of caramel and spice. Enjoy now or cellar with confidence. 93 Very Good – Excellent
