To me, the least cohesive and the most standoff-ish of the three Downie Pinots as a youngster. It’s a touch boney, mostly elbows and knees for now. I have little doubt it will sort itself out over a few years and fulfill its potential.
A tart and pure wine with cranberry acidity taking precedence over overt fruit flavour. Minerality in spades with the perfume of purple and blue flowers slowly revealing itself. Sap and snapped twigs. With enough coaxing some raspberries start to bloom in the glass. Needs time but will repay the favour. 93+ Very Good – Excellent
