Clever marketing behind these wines. From the labels and names to the events used to showcase them. Many of my friends are drawn to the identifiable floral motif and that recognition no doubt plays a part in their purchasing decisions.
Smells rather developed for a 2011 Chardonnay. Botrytis-like floral and apricot nectar traits alongside pear, honey and peach. Mouthfilling, even though it hasn’t gone through malolactic fermentation. Has just enough acidity to hold it together but I think it’s time to drink up. It’s a lifestyle kind of wine – I get that – but the price seems a little steep, at least for this vintage. 85 Average
