A rather old-fashioned rendering of McLaren Vale Shiraz for those with a love of overt oak flavour and a sweet tooth. 24 months in American Oak.
Vanilla custard coats plums and blackberries. Licorice, bourbon and pepper. Carries its warmth well enough. Has a bit of carry through the back-palate but no great persistence. Glycerol mouthfeel. The acid is tad awkward and interrupts the flow and the line. Full-bodied with more oomph than class. 88 Good
