Sergio Carlei’s wines are usually at the riper end of the spectrum and this 2010 release from Heathcote is no exception. Generosity of flavour with the favourable vintage conditions helping to animate the palate.
A mix of fresh and baked plums, chocolate, blackberry and blackcurrant. Minerally tannin with a grainy-ness about it. French oak is obvious but well matched to the fruit. It does push the ripeness envelope but manages to get away with it. 89 Good
