I hadn’t realised that David Hook had such a snazzy website. Looks good and contains plenty of detail. Always helps…even if my tasting note is a bit different to his.
Brown pear and limes, almonds and a suggestion of seashells. Some Sauvignon Blanc-like herbs too. Clean lines, a mineral edge. Very proper, very nice. I remember drinking an earlier vintage of this with a friend out of polystyrene cups on Coochiemudlo Island. Whether it was the joy of the summer fling or the wine, it felt good. It tasted right. And it went well with chips. A little bit of lees work really benefits the overall make-up. Pleasant drinking, all it needs is a little company and something salty. 88 Good
