2011 – a year of victories and defeats for vignerons across most of South East Australia.
There are many things to like about this Grenache from Oliver’s Taranga. It’s medium bodied with fresh red berried fruits, baking spice, ferrous traits and florals. But the fruit smells and feels less than clean. Gamey and brackeny aromas take away from the aromatic profile and the flavours on the palate. The fact that good Grenache is earthen helps a little but ultimately it’s a victim of the wet vintage. 86 Average
