When it comes to Grenache in Australia, three producers are leading the way. Yangarra, SC Pannell and d’Arenberg. Very different styles, all of them. This is a blinder. It’s already looking extraordinary but if you can put some in the cellar you will be rewarded. It really deserves ten years minimum.
Fleet of foot, delicately textured with an impeccable line and real length. Dark and red cherries are to the fore. It’s earthen and very structured, delivering its flavour with precision and form. Salami, florals and a range of spices. Medium-bodied with assertive yet fine-grained tannin. Lithe to the point of being ripped. 95+ Excellent – Exceptional

I was very impressed with the poise, detail and clean flavours of Yangarra when I visited in November. Was a regional highlight.
Yep, one of the shining lights in McLaren Vale. Precisely as you describe the wines + the attention to detail in the vineyard and the winery is quite amazing. Looking forward to the new Rhone grapes they will be planting with an eye to blending. Will be something unique in the Australian vinous landscape.
