My favourite of the Rob Dolan True Colours range so far. Mark it down as another affordable and varietal Pinot Noir option at around the twenty-dollar mark. There seems to be more and more of them.
Strawberries, sour cherries and pips with tart cranberry freshness, slightly bitter herbs and black spice on the finish. Feels a little insubstantial on opening but it fills out quickly and the nippy acidity settles into the wine well. A pleasing rub of soft tannin as well. Darker fruit flavours emerge as it sits in the glass. It’s not lolly water, it’s not over-extracted, it feels regional and it’s enjoyable to drink. Ticks a lot of boxes. 90 Good
