I’m led to believe that this is still the current release although I suspect the 2012 isn’t far away. Bernard Hickin, chief winemaker for Jacob’s Creek, told me that most of the fruit comes from the Eden Valley.
It’s a taut wine, coming across as quite stern after all the 2012s I’ve tasted of late. Not a bad thing by any means. Give it a bit of time in the glass and it throws out pretty white florals, lemons and curiously a hint of red apple. It’s minerally, linear and long with some bath salts and a slatey finish. Will be even better in a few years. I’ve seen it for as little as $11 and at that price it’s nothing short of a bargain. 91+ Good – Very Good
