The Yardbird Union is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. I reckon it’s fast becoming Pyren Vineyard’s signature wine. Make sure you give it a few hours in the decanter before tucking in.
Vivacious red and dark purple berried fruits with herbs, mint, leaf and spice. Strident acidity structures the wine but doesn’t bounce off the flavours and the tannin is very fine and granular. We’re talking a late autumnal feel here but it’s a success story regardless. 90 Good
