A dual region blend and perhaps it’s played a role in ameliorating the wet vintage to an extent. Clever blending regardless. Sourced from the Pyrenees and the Yarra Valley. 50% Cabernet, 30% Shiraz and the rest Merlot.
Leafy and slightly vegetal notes are matched stride for stride by blackberry and cherry. It’s peppery with a hint of black olive. Strident acid but by no means hard or green. The tannins are ripe if firm. Not overly long but a good effort considering the conditions. 88 Good
