Penfold’s Thomas Hyland Chardonnay has become a perennial all-star in the sub-$20 Chardonnay stakes over the last few years. This 2012 keeps up the good work.
Fuller and more forward than the previous release with significant palate weight…but acidity carries the load well. Toasty oak, white peach, nectarine and grapefruit with a few slivers of citrus zest and some almond meal. Plenty of layers on a shapely palate. A hint of honey and spice. Muchos value here. 91 Good – Very Good
